These Terms govern your use of dash, a newsroom monitoring tool operated by Starquo (the "Company"). By using dash you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
dash reads publicly available content from third-party platforms and surfaces it to journalists in a single workspace. The product is read-only with respect to those source platforms.
dash is provided to newsrooms and to working journalists at those newsrooms. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised by your newsroom to use the product.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the activity that occurs under your account. Notify dash@starquo.com as soon as you suspect unauthorised access.
You may not:
dash surfaces public signals for journalists to assess. dash does not vouch for the truth of any signal it shows. Editorial judgment about whether to publish any story remains with the journalist and the newsroom. The product contract page notes that "source markers explain the source, not whether this claim is true".
dash, its name, logo, product design, and underlying software are owned by Starquo. Public content surfaced through dash remains the property of the original poster and the platform that hosts it. dash does not claim ownership of any public content it reads.
dash reads from third-party platforms under their public APIs and terms. We are not responsible for actions or content of those platforms. If a platform changes its rules in a way that affects dash, we may stop reading from that platform.
dash is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor do we warrant that any specific signal will be surfaced in time for editorial action. To the extent permitted by law, all implied warranties are disclaimed.
To the extent permitted by law, Starquo shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising out of your use of dash. Our total liability for any claim relating to dash shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product in the preceding twelve months.
You agree to indemnify and hold Starquo harmless from claims arising out of your use of dash in violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe the Terms have been violated, or if required by law. You may stop using dash at any time. On termination, your right to use dash ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa unless another forum is required by law.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will post the new effective date at the top of the page. Material changes will be communicated to active users.
